This summer we’re sponsoring the Scottish Renewables‘ Onshore Wind Conference. Scotland’s onshore wind industry is a huge success story and there are enormous economic opportunities to be grasped across the board. This conference will bring together leading decision-makers to map out how we secure a sustainable future for the sector, examine the business opportunities – as well as the obstacles – which lie ahead and consider the system changes needed to enable deployment at the pace and scale required to achieve our net-zero target.
The Climate Change Committee has set out the UK’s path to net-zero and it’s clear we aren’t going to get there without more than doubling the amount of onshore wind capacity we have now.
With the Energy White Paper highlighting the importance of including net-zero in Ofgem’s remit, CfD Auction Round 4 on the near horizon and first sight on NPF4 promised in the autumn, the pieces are in motion. But will these create the seismic shift we need, or will they just be weak tremors which leave the policy landscape mostly unchanged?
Scottish Renewables’ Onshore Wind Conference 2021 will examine all these issues and more.
- What a net-zero planning system could look like in practice
- How the grid must change to accommodate Scotland’s onshore wind ambitions
- The opportunities which exist for supply chain businesses and developers from the push to repower existing projects while building new ones.
Delegate ticket price is £145 for non-members and £105 for members.
